Best Vortex Scopes For Deer Hunting

Deer hunting is actually a popular sport these days, and if you are on the lookout for a scope that’s ideal for deer hunting, I am here to give you a glimpse at the best Vortex scopes for the job.

People have always been divided on whether hunting and deer hunting, in particular, is an ethical thing for us. As hunters, we have decided that the majority of states have strict rules in place to curb illegal deer poaching, so the number of deer in the forests is plenty. You might even say that hunting is important to keep the populations in check, though that might seem wrong to say- it’s the truth.

If you are into deer hunting, you already know that deers are pretty fast on their feet. As they are always on the lookout for potential predators, it’s not easy to shoot one from a short distance. For this very reason, having a good quality scope that shines in long-range shooting can be very beneficial for you.

I also talk about what each model is good for, and what it isn’t meant to do, so read on to find out more about the scopes.

In this short review, I go through the best Vortex rifle scopes so you have a good idea about which one would be the best for you. Let’s get started, shall we?

Best Vortex Scopes For Deer Hunting

1. Vortex Optics Crossfire II Riflescope
9.8/10 Our Score

Our Verdict
The Vortex Optics Crossfire riflescope is one of the best budget scopes when it comes to accuracy and exceptional glass quality.

I find that the 12x higher limit on the magnification is well enough for all purposes, and the long eye relief of 3.9 inches has plenty of room to be comfortable for glass wearers.

You also get fully multi-coated lenses which ensure that you get exceptional quality on the brightness of the image as well as a high resolution worth the price.

I like that this scope is also good for dim conditions which cannot be said for many scopes in the market.
The field of view on this is 24.7 – 8.4 ft at 100 yards.

Built on a 1-inch tube, the scope features a capped turret and 1/4 MOA adjustment. You also get the zero-reset feature on the turrets which can be super handy when you need to make rapid successive shots.

I think this scope shines at long-range shooting as the BDC reticle on this is excellent for predicting the range and holdover.

What I like the most about this is the fact that the Vortex Optics Crossfire Optics II scope has a fantastic feel to it. It feels neither too light nor too heavy at 17.2 oz and if you are looking for a good quality scope to invest in, this would be an ideal choice.

If you are worried if the scope will give out in rain or fog, you don’t have to worry at all as the scope is fully waterproof as well as fog proof which is actually a necessity on scopes you know are going to be out in the open. The tough exterior also does a good job of keeping the scope scratchproof.

The O-ring seals and the Nitrogen purging are fantastic.

2. Vortex Optics Diamondback 3.5-10x50 Scope
9.6/10 Our Score

Our Verdict

If you are looking for a single focal plane rifle scope that has an incredible magnification range, the Vortex Diamondback scope is a wonderful scope that will prove to be very impressive and well-suited for your needs.

With this scope, you are looking at a magnification range of 3.5 – 10 x and an objective lens of a diameter of 50mm.

What I love about this riflescope is the fact that it has a wide objective lens that gathers a huge amount of light, so it’s exceptionally bright and crisp.

If there’s a thing one thing I would be concerned about on this, it would have to be the slightly lesser eye relief at 3.3 inches. It’s still very good for us though. It’s just that some scopes might offer more eye relief and so, be more comfortable for use.

The field of view on this is 35.8- 13.5 ft at 100 yards.
I love that the lenses on this are fully multi-coated and offer fantastic light quality.
