Privacy Policy

BinocularSumo publishes binocular guides and affiliate product listings. Purchases take place at the retailer. The site does not take payment details, shipping addresses or retailer order history.

When accounts are available, registration collects your name, email and password. The account database stores your profile, a salted password hash and hashed session tokens. It does not store your plain password. Your email stays unverified until you confirm an email link.

A session cookie keeps you logged in for up to seven days. It is restricted to this site and cannot be read by page scripts. Expired sessions are removed during account activity. Logging out ends the current session; logging out on all devices ends every session. Password changes and resets cancel other sessions.

Verification and reset links are single-use and expire after one hour and fifteen minutes respectively. The account database keeps hashed copies of these tokens. If our email service is unavailable, these emails cannot be sent. Recovery uses a verified account email. Email links do not reset retailer account access.

The contact form collects your name, email and message. The message is sent to support@binocularsumo.com with your email as the reply address. The form does not save messages to a database. If it cannot send, it reports the failure and offers an email link. Your email client handles messages sent through that link.

Interaction events, including product identifiers, page paths and filter choices, are held in the current page’s browser memory. The site uses no external analytics vendor and sends no analytics network requests. Account passwords, emails and contact-message contents are excluded from those events. There is no analytics cookie or persistent analytics storage.

BinocularSumo uses Cloudflare to serve pages and to handle forms and accounts. The account database and email service process the information those features need. Anti-abuse controls use short-lived counters: account attempts use hashed network and email identifiers for fifteen-minute windows; contact attempts use network identifiers in server memory. The retailer receives information when you open its site and uses its own privacy policy. Embedded videos load from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced host when present; that service has its own data practices.

You can delete your account from the account page after entering your password and confirming deletion. This removes the profile, stored password hash, sessions and outstanding account links from the active account database. This policy does not state a retention period for hosting logs, mailboxes or provider backups. For questions about them, email support@binocularsumo.com.
