Features
Lens System
The binocular has an 8x zoom, which is more than enough for birdwatching, hunting, and watching sports. Thanks to the multi-coated prism system here, the 25mm objective lens is still clear despite its small size. BaK-4 prism system provides that high resolution and quality picture that multi-coated lenses are known for. As a result, you can enjoy really crisp and detailed images. Therefore, the lens performance is top-notch here.
Build Quality
This binocular is constructed from polycarbonate and has durable armor covering. Rubber’s rugged exterior protects it from shock, and the rubber’s texture ensures its grip is non-slip. This makes it an excellent bird-watching binocular. As well as handling all kinds of weather conditions, these binoculars are also very durable.
As well as being fog proof, the Outland X is sealed with dry nitrogen gas. I find this feature to be pretty cool. Added to this is a lifetime warranty that is included with this binocular. Due to the excellent customer service, the warranty is a really good choice.
Comfort and Usability
Binoculars like this are pretty comfortable to use. Firstly, you get rubber grips with texturized patterns, which is great. Additionally, it is easy to focus thanks to the quick adjustment knob and the good eye relief. Further, there are twist-up eyecups here so you can adjust your eyes quickly, and these eyecups can be positioned to your liking. Furthermore, you can use it with or without eyeglasses.
Conclusion
Celestron’s Outland X 8×25 binocular is a very well-designed binocular with nice packaging, a really good optical performance, solid usability, comfort,, and an overall impressive binocular. Although you may be a bit skeptical about Celestron, trust us. The brand actually lives up to its reputation. Based in California, they manufacture optics, so they are an American company. Over the years, they have provided great quality binoculars since 1960. In other words, you cannot go wrong with a brand.
Regarding the Outland X binocular, it does have some problems with its polycarbonate construction. In essence, polycarbonate is just a filler word for plastic, but it is high-quality plastic, so it makes a decent build. Furthermore, the rubber exterior adds to the overall construction and even though the used material is not a very sought after one, the overall result is still not bad. However, you also receive a warranty, so the question of build quality really doesn’t matter as the company will literally replace the product if you encounter any problems.
